Australian Association for Humane Research Inc.
Approximately 6.5 million animals
are used in experiments each year, in Australia alone. And yet despite
this 85% of drugs that are ‘successfully’ tested on animals fail to attain
general distribution, and worse still, many are still withdrawn from the market
due to them causing detrimental side effects on humans which were not predicted
through animal tests. The Australian Association for Humane Research Inc. is an
information service attempting to bring to the attention of the public the
ethical and scientific arguments against the continued use of animals in
research, and to counter the false claims made by the animal research lobby for
over a century.
Animals Asia
A remarkable woman, who started
an amazing foundation for the rescue and care of bears kept in appalling
conditions and brutalised daily. Her team of dedicated volunteers and staff work
tirelessly to change government policies to end this cruel practice and to offer
these poor creatures a chance of a new life.
Animals
Australia
Animals Australia is Australia's
most dynamic national animal protection organisation. Australia's second
largest and most dynamic national animal protection organisation, representing
some 40 member societies and thousands of individual supporters throughout
Australia. They rely entirely on donations from supporters to carry out such
important work.
Blue Wedges Coalition
We here at Bayse are fortunate
enough to live in a gorgeous suburb on Port Phillip Bay in Melbourne,
Australia. We adore this bay and all it has to offer. We walk along its beaches,
swim, snorkel and scuba in it. We always stop to marvel at the incredibly vast
array of wildlife that lives in harmony with it, 5,000 species vast in fact. Why
would our government risk damage to such a delicate ecosystem for the sake of a
few dollars of benefit to big business. Who pays for this? We do! The Blue
Wedges Coalition is against the proposed channel deepening & dredging of Port
Phillip Bay. We encourage you to read in depth about this issue and contact the
government to put a stop to this.
Caring
Consumer
Hundreds of thousands of
these animals are poisoned, blinded, and killed every year in outdated and
ineffective product tests for shampoos, household cleaners, cosmetics,
hairsprays, and other personal care and household items. Although more than
600 companies have banned
all animal tests forever,
some corporations still force
substances into animals' stomachs and drip chemicals into rabbits' eyes. These
tests are not required by law, and they often produce inaccurate and misleading
results—even if a product has blinded an animal, it can still be marketed to
you.
Choose Cruelty Free Ltd.
If you care about animals
then you need to pay more attention to how you chose your products.
Choose Cruelty Free (CCF) is an independent, non-profit organisation
which actively promotes a cruelty-free lifestyle. They are an incredibly
talented and devoted group of volunteers who work tirelessly to expose
the ugly side of the beauty and fashion industry.

The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics
On any given day a
consumer may use as many as 25 different cosmetics and personal care
products containing more than 200 different chemical compounds.
The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics is a coalition of public health,
educational, religious, labour, women's, environmental and consumer
groups. Their goal is to protect the health of consumers and workers by
requiring the health and beauty industry to phase out the use of
chemicals linked to cancer, birth defects and other health problems and
replace them with safer alternatives. Bayse has taken a pledge,
the Compact for Safe Cosmetics, to formulate the products we manufacture
to use only ingredients that are not known or suspected of causing
cancer, mutation, birth defects or other health harms.

Babe
Pigs are intelligent
and sensitive animals. Yet in Australian factory farms (where 95% of
pigs are raised), cruel laws allow hundreds of thousands of mother pigs
to be individually confined for their 16 week pregnancy in tiny metal
and concrete stalls. Unable to even turn around, their sole choice is to
stand or lie on a hard floor. Most Australians are completely unaware of
how pigs are raised in this country.
Factory farming is cruel and unnatural.
If this method of 'farming' is unacceptable to you - please make the
Pro Pig Pledge!
like we have.
